What a fantastic debut novel by Vanessa Lillie! I'm impressed by how well-developed the characters were, more particularly Devon. As the story progress, the reader gets to learn more about what makes her the way she is as well as the voice in her head. Is it only her internal thoughts or is there something more to it? Little Voices is the kind of book where you think you have things figured out and the author surprises you with every turn of the page. I couldn't put it down! It's easily one of my favorites this year! One thing I particularly connected to was the highlight of postpartum depression. As a mother myself, I have gone through this challenging time and live all the ups and downs of motherhood. Postpartum depression is still a somewhat taboo subject in today's society and I feel like it would be beneficial for mothers to feel confident in reaching out for help if they struggle with PPD. This title is available now, so hurry up and grab yourse...
The Poison Garden was a fun thriller to read on a cold autumn weekend. It's full of suspense and intrigue that keeps the reader on their toes until the last shocking twist. The characters all seemed secretive, troubled or unstable, and as the story develops, we get to know more about their motivations to get "rid" of Elise. A domestic thriller that delves into dark secrets people want to keep to themselves and proves just how easily one can be emotionally and psychologically manipulated.  Fast-paced, eerily atmospheric and entertaining, I recommend this one for fans of thrillers. Available on October 22nd. Thank you to Amazon Publishing and Lake Union Publishing for my gifted copy. My rating:  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Here's a quick synopsis: Elise Watters seems to have it all—a blissful marriage, a gorgeous Victorian home surrounded by lush gardens, and a dream job running her late mother’s herbal boutique. But on the eve of her first wedding anniversary,...

For those who love a book that starts with a bang, this one is definitely one of them! The initial scene opens the story with a deep sense of urgency that pulls the reader right in.  I'm not usually a fan of novels with more than 2-3 POVs but this one was so magnificently crafted that they all blended in and tied together perfectly. I love when the author incorporates a creepy feel to the story and The Grey Sisters had just enough. It truly gave out the feeling that you were being watched by hidden figures in the room. I thought this added even more suspense and creepiness to the story.  As for twists and turns, there are tons! Some were predictable, others were not. I loved trying to figure out what comes next as I was reading along. The characters were well crafted and the reader could really feel their battle for the last spark of hope, even during their darkest days. The determination of the women was transparent and the story ended in a satisfying way.  ...
