If you like gothic vibes psychological thrillers – this one for you! The story takes place at an exclusive boarding school, where one can expect secret passageways, secret societies, murder, to name a few. I loved everything about the setting and the atmosphere of this book! It was truly creepy and mysterious! Also, it was very unpredictable! If you think you know what will happen, think again! I’ve never read something quite like this, a very creative premise! Finally, the ending! WOW, that was such a great ending! Definitely, a must-read! Expertly written, and full of surprises! The action starts right on page 1! It was so intriguing; I couldn’t wait to read more! As the book went on, I did find that the story was becoming a little monotone, but the action definitely picks up later in the book! One thing is for sure, Karin Slaughter does not shy away from gory details and I personally love it! Her stories are so creative and crazy, just the way I like it! There were many surprises and multiple twists. I absolutely did not expect how this story would unfold. Karin also did a great job of showing how a traumatic event can change people in totally different ways. She is definitely a master at her craft! This is my third book from her, and I am definitely a fan, I will keep picking her books up! Beware of triggers such as violence and graphic sexual nature. Synopsis Two girls are forced into the woods at gunpoint. One runs for her life. One is left behind. Twenty-eight years ago, Charlotte and Samantha Quinn's happy small-town f...
Unpopular opinion alert. This book was so hype-up, I had very high expectations. However, I found this book to be  very slow-burning, predictable psychological thriller. Regardless, I still was interested in how the story would play out. Especially since the book was described as Dexter meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and the fact that the premise was about a couple that murders together. Also, the action picked up a bit near the end, and the ending was pretty satisfying for my liking! It definitely moved my rating from a 3.5 star to a 4 star. If you want a quick and interesting read, you might like this one, but don’t expect this huge storyline with multiple plot twists. Synopsis Dexter meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith in this wildly compulsive debut thriller about a couple whose fifteen-year marriage has finally gotten too interesting... Our love story is simple. I met a gorgeous woman. We fell in love. We had kids. We moved to the suburbs. We told each other our biggest...
All she has to do is kill a stranger…. Needless to say this is was one of my favorite books of the year! This was my first book from Wendy Heard and I am now obsessed! First off, I immediate fell in love with the main character Jazz ! She’s a unique and strong female protagonist that will stop at nothing to help her brother. This was such a creative and original plot line, I had no clue what was about to happen one moment to the next. I read this book in two days, which is quite fast for me! If you want a thrill seeking novel with so many twist and turns, you need this book in your life! Thank you to Harper Collins for providing me with an electronic ARC of this book via NetGalley.     This book started off with a bang! It caught my attention right away and I couldn’t stop reading. (Which you should read below!) For me personally, I didn’t know who that was in the beginning chapter (I’m trying to not give out spoilers lol it’s so hard), but for me, everything was a mystery until the very end! Maybe I missed some clues but that actually made the whole book for me! There were so many characters that were intertwined that I had no clue what was going to happen. Some characters I really loved and rooted for, others I disliked, but I truly enjoyed the character development throughout the story and how we were able to read through the difference characters POVs. I loved the drama aspect of this book, along with the mystery it really kept me turning pages. However, it went down to a 4-star read for me because of the ending….no spoilers but I just did not like it. I was kind of mad. If you want an easy to read, entertaining, dramatic, domes...
