Sister Dear |  Hannah Mary McKinnon  |  MIRA Books | Pub: May 26, 2020 I’ve been a huge fan of Hannah Mary McKinnon ever since I read The Neighbors and this book made me love her even more! I had so many emotions going through this book it was insane. The ending left me so speechless I had to contact Hannah to discuss! It left me completely floored! I really fell in love with the protagonist, I loved how she was flawed and how we got to witness her transformation throughout the book. This book was full of secrets, lies, and twists! I don’t say this lightly, but this book made me fall back in love with reading! This might be my number 1 book of 2020! 29 Seconds | T.M. Logan |  St. Martin's Press | Pub: March 8, 2018 “Give me one name. One person. And I will make them disappear.” This book was sooo good!! Two words to describe this story: Addicting and compelling! I hadn’t read a crazy thriller in a while and this book took me right out of my book slump! In addition to all the twists, this novel was very well written and very fast-paced. You will not get bored, let me tell you! Such a great plot with great characters! Don’t even get me started on the ending, it was KILLER. As usual, I thought I had figured out everything, but then BAM a twist ensues and leaves me speechless. This book definitely plays with your emotions! If you want an edge-of-your-seat thriller, this is the one! Highly Recommend. Thank you to St. Martin's Press for providing me with an ARC of this book. The Turn of the Key | Ruth Ware | Simon & Schuster | Pub: August 6, 2019 I’m a huge fan of Ruth Ware, but I have to admit that this book doesn’t compare to how much I loved The Woman in Cabin 10. It was a very slow-paced read, there was barely any action and I felt like it was dragging on. The book did pick up near the end but overall, it was kind of excruciating to read. I still gave this book 4 stars, so there are other things I quite enjoyed! Firstly, you can always count of Ruth Ware to deliver an atmospheric vibe! A super technological advanced mansion in the middle of the woods? Yes please. That definitely increased the creepiness factor. I also really enjoyed the creativity of the writing. The book was narrated by letters written by the main character, as she was sending them to a solicitor in hopes that he would help get her out of jail. Super creative! I’ve never seen anything like that done before. Finally, I loved the unpredictable twists and the g...
You Are Not Alone    | Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen |  St. Martin's Press | Pub: March 3, 2020 What a psychological thriller! Sarah and Greer are masters at writing psychological thrillers! As expected, this book contains so many twists and turns it almost gave me whiplash, in a good way! In addition to the gripping suspense, the premise is so original! Some characters were truly devious, but I really loved the main character, Shay Miller, and was absolutely rooting for her! I loved the transformation we saw in her as the story developed. Amazing ending!!! The only reason this isn’t a 5-star read for me is due to some missing pieces to the story, but overall, such a great book that is brilliantly written! Highly recommend. Thank you to St. Martin’s Press for providing me with an electronic ARC of this book via NetGalley. As usual, my reviews are my honest and unbiased opinions. Synopsis You probably know someone like Shay Miller. She wants to ...
The Wife Stalker |  Liv Constantine  |  Harper Collins | Pub: May 19, 2020 This is one book I for sure thought I knew how it was going to unfold the whole time. In my mind this was a super predictable story. Boy was I wrong!! Due to the huge twist and brilliant ending, this is making it extremely hard to review since I don’t want to give any spoilers. All I will say is, it was definitely a page turner for me right from the get go, even though I thought I knew where it was going, I couldn’t stop reading. Which is a great quality in a book in my opinion! The writing was excellent and the story had an amazing premise !! Highly recommend. Thank you to Harper Collins for providing me with an electronic ARC of this book via NetGalley. As usual, my reviews are my honest and unbiased opinions.                                        This is How I Lied |  Heather Gudenkauf  |  Park Row Books | Pub: May 12, 2020 I have to admit I didn’t enjoy Before She Was Found that much. However, I remembered the crazy unpredictable ending, so I had to give this one a go and I was not disappointed! I enjoyed this book so much and I will forever be reading books by Heather Gudenkauf. The story is told by three POVs; Officer Maggie Kennedy O’Keefe, who is investigating the 25-year-old murder of her best friend Eve Knox, Eve Knox, the murder victim, and Nola Knox, Eve’s crazy sister. I must say I completely hated Nola’s character! She was absolutely vile and evil. That was probably the whole point, but I had zero sympathy for her and could not stand reading her chapters. However, I really loved Officer Maggie’s character and loved to read what she went through in 1995 and how the events in 1995 changed her life. This was a total page-turner with a killer ending! If you think y...
Darling Rose Gold | Stephanie Wrobel | Berkley | Pub: March 17, 2020 This book was definitely a creepy, dark and twisty psychological thriller! The story contains two POVs, Rose Gold’s and her mother Patty. My sympathy kept changing as I was reading their POVs. Both characters have many issues and are quite deranged but that’s what kept me wanting more! I had to know what would unfold. I kept wanting to scream at the characters like WHY are you acting like this?!? But that’s what kept me engaged! Definitely expect some unpredictable twists. This is a 4-stars for me since I will admit I was getting annoyed at Patty and Rose Gold’s shenanigans but overall original and entertaining story! Thank you to Simon & Schuster for providing me with an electronic ARC of this book via NetGalley. As usual, my reviews are my honest and unbiased opinions. Synopsis For the first eighteen years of her life, Rose Gold Watts believed she was seriously ill. She was allergic...
