This book did not disappoint! I am still shook, the ending was kind of mind-blowing. It was definitely a twist within a twist! The best kind of books are the unpredictable ones! It was a real page turner, great writing, and a great pace. It wasn’t so much action packed but the way the story was told was a great choice! It goes back in forth between Louise and Adele, present day, and Adele’s past. I really started rooting for Louise, a single-divorced mom, who is just trying to find love.
People have told me to be open-minded with this book and I’m really glad I listened. That is the best advice I got going into this book and I think it made me enjoy it more. I highly recommend this book!
Louise is a single mom, a secretary, stuck in a modern-day rut. On a rare night out, she meets a man in a bar and sparks fly. Though he leaves after they kiss, she’s thrilled she finally connected with someone.
When Louise arrives at work on Monday, she meets her new boss, David. The man from the bar. The very married man from the bar…who says the kiss was a terrible mistake but who still can’t keep his eyes off Louise.
And then Louise bumps into Adele, who’s new to town and in need of a friend, but she also just happens to be married to David. David and Adele look like the picture-perfect husband and wife, but then why is David so controlling, and why is Adele so scared of him?
As Louise is drawn into David and Adele’s orbit, she uncovers more puzzling questions than answers. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong, but Louise can’t guess how wrong―and how far a person might go to protect their marriage’s secrets.
Louise is a single mom to a six year old boy. On a rare night out, she ends up kissing a handsome man in a bar, David, who turns out to be her new boss. Shortly after, she bumps into David's wife, Adele, who is in need of a friend. They seem like the perfect couple but Louise soon finds herself asking herself why is David so controlling and why does Adele fear her husband? As she gets involved with both of them, Louise is faced with even more questions than answers and she knows something in their marriage is very, very wrong.
After seeing this book everywhere on Instagram, I knew I had to buy it and it did not disappoint! I'm still in awe about the ending. The twist at the end is mind blowing. Totally did not expect that! I love a good psychological thriller and this one, was excellent! I would definitely recommend it!
It wasn't an action packed book and there were times where I was slightly confused by what was going on but I loved the way the story was told, rotating between Louise and Adele in the present day as well as in Adele's past. In the end, all the puzzle pieces fell into each other and everything made sense.
