Mistletoe & Mr. Right | Sarah Morgenthaler | Sourcebooks Casablanca | Pub: 10/6/20 “Well, what grand gesture could Rick possibly make? Here, surrounded by them? We all feel like we aren’t enough.” Did I read this book in 2 days? Yes. So that very clearly means I enjoyed it. What I didn’t expect was to like it more than The Tourist Attraction. Lana works for her family’s company; she is rich and gorgeous and according to family and friends, way out of Rick’s league. Rick is the owner of the pool hall in Moose Springs. He is behind on rent, barely making ends meet, taking care of his nephew and did I mention that Lana is his business’ ‘landlord’? Does the entire town hate her besides her handful of friends? Yes. Does anything mentioned stop the two from having a little Christmas fling? I think I enjoyed this book more because we got a more in-depth view of Rick’s and Lana’s pasts. So, we see why each side is so hesitant for this fling to be a thing. This book also occu...
The Tourist Attraction | Sarah Morgenthaler | Sourcebooks Casablanca | Pub: 5/5/20   “I’m pretty sure being in the middle of the wilderness with a stranger thousands of miles away from everything I know pretty much entails that I am all about the adventure.” Now, I knew I loved Alaska Romances when I read The Simple Wild and Wild at Heart By K.A. Tucker. Which after reading The Simple Wild was when I decided I needed to read ALL the outdoor romance books I could find. (That is what I call these books, they may go by a different name but…) Here comes The Tourist Attraction. It takes us to Moose Springs, Alaska. A tiny town with a giant resort and lots of tourists that the locals don’t like. Graham runs a diner called The Tourist Trap and he has a strict rule that he doesn’t like tourists. Lana has been a tourist for years and this time she brought her friend Zoey… Graham wanted to break all his rules for her. This book was cheesy cute, think Hallmark movies, and I think that was pa...
Autoboyography | Christina Lauren | Simon & Schuster | Pub: 9/12/17 “In summary: love and respect, but only if you’re willing to live by their rules… and if not, then exclusion is the only answer.” I have been reading so many fantasy and mystery books lately that I needed a change of pace. After receiving Autoboyography in the mail from a giveaway win, I decided it was just the change I needed. Tanner is a bisexual male who moved from California, land of the accepting, to Utah, land of the Mormons. Tanner has to close himself back up for fear of how the people of Provo will treat him. His family knows about him and accept and love him but are just concerned about how he will be treated. He hasn’t even told his best friend. So now in senior year of high school, he signs up for the Seminar. It is a class where you write a book in 4 months. Tanner’s semester is turned upside down when Sebastian is announced as the Teacher’s Assistant for the class. Sebastian was in the cl...
A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire | Jennifer L Armentrout | Blue Box Press | Pub: 9/1/20 “There is no side of you that is not as beautiful as the other half. Not a single inch isn’t stunning. That was true the first time I said it to you, and it is still true today and tomorrow.” After reading From Blood and Ash just a few months ago, I became wrapped up in Poppy and Hawke and (im)patiently awaited the next book I the series to come out. A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire was even more incredible than From Blood and Ash. More action? More romance? More sarcasm? SIGN ME UP! Poppy’s and Hawke’s ‘relationship’ is definitely tested throughout this book. There were some truly terrifying moments and some truly humorous ones. The balance was perfect. The book leaves off at quite the cliffhanger (like jaw dropping stuff) and I don’t even know where the characters stand with each other anymore (cue nail biting). Now I am mad at myself because I have to wait until April for the next book. *dee...
