“Look towards where it hurts the most. That’s
always where the answers are.”
Where to begin…
I had started this book a couple of
months ago, but the beginning had been a lot of world building and I wasn’t
gripped. I reminded myself that I am a mood reader and that I just wasn’t in the
mood for it. Fast forward to February 1 and I just had to pick it back up. It
was literally calling to me. I had finally gotten beyond the world building and
was in for a wild ride.
Bryce, half human and half fae, lost her
best friend to a brutal demon murder. Hunt, fallen angel, is a slave to the
archangels. Bryce and Hunt are forced to combine forces to find a missing artifact
and to solve some murders before the big summit. Will they achieve their goal?
I found it extremely difficult to put
this book down once the world building was done. It gripped me. And just when I
thought I knew what way was up, we were going down. Yes, this book is a fantasy
with an enemies to lovers romance but it was also a mystery book. I truly
believed I had everything solved and I was 100% wrong.
I laughed at all the sarcasm. I got
angry. I cried. I sobbed uncontrollably. I smiled from my heart. All the
emotions. And I will claim very loudly… THIS IS THE BEST SARAH J MAAS BOOK I
HAVE READ YET! The second book in the series is supposed to come out in
November and I will be preordering a signed copy.
My personal favorite character was Lehabah.
When you read this book, I hope you cherish her as much as I did. She was a
real delight, a real light, and one of the best friends someone could ask for.
