Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone Review

Jane lives a double life with a single purpose: revenge. She works for a Midwest insurance company. She blends in, she's particularly pretty in her floral dresses and is efficient in her low-level job. It doesn't take long for manager Steven to notice her. She's all he loves about a woman: meek, insecure and willing to deter to a man. No one has any idea who Jane really is, especially Steven. Jane has a secret and abusive Steven brings out the worst in her. She has no trouble inserting herself into Steven's world just to expose his secrets and take everything away that matters to him. Just as he did to her.

Jane is a dark, twisted character. She's a self diagnosed sociopath. She's fully aware of her strengths and her failings at a "normal" human being. She's a piece of work with plenty of rough edges and a wicked sense of humour. The reader gets to experience Jane's point of view only. I love psychological suspense novels and this one was a page turner! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because a part of the ending felt rushed and disappointing after being built up from the beginning. I kind of expected more, but this book was amazing either way.

My Rating: 4 stars
