Sister of Mine by Laurie Petrou Review

Hello everyone! Mommy Reads here! :) Our daughter asked us to see waterfalls a few weeks ago, so of course I had to bring books to take pictures! I personally prefer outside shots of books and ever since I started my Bookstagram, I've been on the lookout for new and original places in nature to take creative photos. Do you prefer indoor or outdoor book photography?

Back on track with my review... This book is marked as a domestic thriller, but not in the way we are usually used to. There is a crime and in the first chapter, we learn who is murdered, why, when and how. The suspense comes in the aftermath with the feeling that something is about to implode or explode and when it does, it will not be pretty. The author did a great job in navigating from the past and the present.

It was a quick and engaging read, well-written and full of tension. I liked the way the narration took place, with two sisters and their back and forth feelings towards each other and both needing the other to survive and keep their secrets, as well as keep the charades going.

Overall I enjoyed this novel. It wasn't exactly a page turner but it had just enough suspense for me to keep reading.

My rating: 4 stars
